How to Stick to Your Healthy Habit.

There are several steps you can take to trick your brain into creating healthy habits.

Have you ever tried doing something that you thought would improve your life and ended up not sticking with it? It's like a New Year's Resolution. We always say we're going to do something, start off really well, and end up just forgetting about it 3 weeks later. I remember saying to myself not too long ago that I'd start eating healthier snacks after school. Today I ate a piece of cake with whipped cream and four chocolate chip cookies, so that obviously didn't last very long. Motivation and willpower alone just wasn't enough. That's why I absolutely love this list of ways to decide on a healthy habit and stick with it. It tells you why you haven't been able to make this new habit a routine and ways to make it just that: routine. Whether you want to eat better, exercise more, spend more time with your dog, sleep more, or stop procrastinating like me, this article can help you do it all. Who knows, with this new found information, I just might try this whole healthy snack thing again (or maybe not lol). What healthy habit will you try to implement into your lifestyle? I wish you the best of luck!

Quote of The Day: “If you try anything, if you try to lose weight, or to improve yourself, or to love, or to make the world a better place, you have already achieved something wonderful, before you even begin. Forget failure. If things don't work out the way you want, hold your head up high and be proud. And try again. And again. And again!”

  1. I completely understand the feeling... Making a resolution is easy, but actually accomplishing it is a whole other story. I really liked how you put the quote of the day and the picture at the bottom. It gives a little bit more insight into the post and I enjoyed it very much. :) Also, if I were you, I would put the works cited at the very bottom instead of above the picture. Having it below the picture would make looking at the picture and reading the quote a lot smoother. Hope it helped. :)

  2. Your writing really inspires me to get up and make healthier choices. Your description on how to make goals is absolutely amazing, unlike others that just expect people to do so without any type of motivation. Keep up the great work, Ashley. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ (I messed up the first time so I deleted it aye)

  3. If you really want to get something completed, especially making a big change to your lifestyle like this, you need someone or a group of people that can keep you accountable. It would be so much easier if you could meet with people that are sharing the same goal as you so that you could communicate your experiences with them! They will also keep you on track so you won't "forget" like your other resolutions :)

  4. This post really made me think about my food choices. Everyone could stand to eat a little less junk food and more healthier foods. I can really relate to this post because I always make promises to myself to stop consuming as much junk food as I do, but within a week I always have a set back. For example, I tell myself that I’m going to only eat one cookie, but someone offers me another one and I immediately give in. Choices like this need to stop and turn into a healthier choice. After all, we make our own choices in life and we as humans need to start making the healthier choice.

  5. I love how bright and colorful your blog is! I love the intentions of the blog and how you urge people to be a better them. This made me think about the types of eating habits I have and how to create better ones. I also agree with you in that sticking to this healthier habit is important. In the end making healthier choices starts with ourselves, and i agree with you in that the people that stick to their new choice will feel much better about themselves!

  6. I completely understand how you feel. I am constantly telling myself that I need to get my homework done as soon as I get home, but as always I would do it for a while, but then I procrastinate and tell myself it can wait. That is the moment that I look back on and realize that I didn't keep my promise to myself. However I have heard that if you are able to stick with a routine for at least 31 days, it becomes natural.

Also, I love you blog, it is really neat, and I cant to see what comes next.

  7. I need some of this. We all do! :)
Especially because it is currently December which means that New Years is coming up. Every year, everyone has to make a list of things they want to accomplish.... It is usually forgotten by January 5th.
We usually have very good intentions and great ideas on resolutions, the trouble is keeping it going.
On the list, I found number 18 helpful which says to add replacements to salad instead of fattening dressing. I really like salad but what's the point when you drown it in unhealthy stuff. I also liked number 32. It says to eat fruit instead of sugary deserts. They can be sweet too!
Thank you so much for the tips!
